Location:

NLM’s research and development operations are located at CoMotion Labs in Fluke Hall, on the University of Washington campus in Seattle. A few hundred yards from Lake Washington, it is surrounded by stunning mountain views and a short walk from the University of Washington Link Light Rail Station.

Job Position Description:

Job type: Full-time exempt
Pay range: $90-130K annually Compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
Reporting Line: CEO
Location: Remote or Hybrid (Seattle)

Summary: NLM Photonics is seeking a Technical Program Manger to manage customer projects related to high-performance silicon photonics, with extensive engagement with OEMs, semiconductor fabs, end customers, and internal R&D. The position requires understanding managing fast-paced semiconductor development projects, and understanding stakeholder requirements and resources. This position is remote eligible, although the role may include occasional work at a NLM Photonics office or attendance at offsites, as requested by the company. Up to 10% travel (domestic and international) may be required for customer and partner site visits.

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Engage with company partners to plan programs and coordinate to meet key business objectives.
  • Develop and implement metrics for measuring program effectiveness and improvement areas, collect and analyze data in support of business planning and data driven decisions.
  • Report on overall program status, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Act as liaison between technical team and non-technical audiences and customers, understanding customer requirements and company technical capabilities.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, finding opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Proactively engage with and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety, trade, and export control regulations and standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years program management experience including proven ability managing global projects, adaptable to multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrated business development program management expertise and mastery of technical and management practices.
  • Demonstrated skill in engaging and moderating successful engagements with engineering partners and vendors.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and tools, project planning, and task tracking tools.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic in identifying and implementing positive changes in hardware and process engineering in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Background in photonics, datacenter technologies, network technology, semiconductor technologies, and/or hardware development.
  • Prior experience in the management of customer workflows and expectations.
  • Consistent track record of driving process improvements and measuring efficiency.
  • A passion for sharing knowledge and experience driving complex projects end-to-end.
